Let Us Bow Down and Worship Him – Psalm 95:6
Enter, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the Lord who made us.
Reflection
While worship comes in many forms, it is the way humans direct their hearts, minds, and soul towards their Maker – the Creator of the universe. The Psalmist calls on us to “bow down in worship,” to “kneel before the Lord.” That not only tells us how our earliest ancestors worshipped, it solidifies the power it holds in the spiritual realm. As they say, “reverent worship of the Lord opens the windows of Heaven.” Simple acts of honoring Him, such as bowing or kneeling before the Cross, are not just about submission or subservience either. Yes, they are about that, too, but they are also acts of acknowledgment that God does indeed have authority over all creation — including our lives and final destiny.
Whether we believe that God is in a place of authority over all things or not, He still is. When Lucifer (now Satan) — God’s creation — challenged God the Creator with pride and arrogance, he was cast into Hell for all eternity. What is the opposite of pride? Humility. Acknowledging and praising God for who He is is an act of humility in and of itself because in worshipping Him we surrender ourselves to His power. Humility goes hand in hand with faith and both are key ingredients to produce supernatural blessings in our lives. When you honor God in worship, taking to your knees and humbly offering your will for His, you will no longer have to worry about what is going to happen in the future. Instead, you will be able to rest in the promise that He is in charge … and thus will always take care of you.
Prayer
Maker of Heaven and earth, we bow down before You in humble reverence to Your dominion and power over all things. Please direct our hearts and minds toward You today. Strengthen our faith and help us to be fearless warriors as we pursue Your will on earth, surrendering our lives for Your greater good. Fill us with Your love, crown our heads with righteousness, and give us Your wisdom, strength and courage for whatever may lie ahead. We love You, Jesus, and we honor You always. It is in Your good and Holy Name we pray. Amen.
