Psalm 128 – Blessed are Those Who Fear the Lord

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
and who walk in His ways.
Psalm 128:1

Psalm 128:1 — Blessed are Those Who Fear the Lord

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
and who walk in His ways.

“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, and who walk in His ways.” Fearing the Lord does not mean fearing Him as we would fear someone or something who is bad. Fearing the Lord, reverently fearing Him, means to have the utmost respect for His Majesty; for the Lord as Creator of Heaven and earth; for His unfathomable power. God has the power to do all things big and small for you and through you — and the psalmist reminds us today that when we fear the Almighty by our praise, worship and obedience, walking in His commanded ways and precepts (that only benefit us!), that we will be blessed in return. Honor Him in word, thought and deed and then, like King David, prepare for blessing!
