I sought the Lord and He answered me,
and rescued me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:4
Psalm for Reflection: Becoming Freed from Fear — Psalm 34:4
I sought the Lord and He answered me,
and rescued me from all my fears.
“I sought the Lord and He answered me; and rescued me from all my fears.” Fear is a crippling experience that prevents us from successfully moving forward. For the psalmist, fear of enemies was a very real and present danger almost daily. But the psalmist knew that if he lie crippled with fear, he would not be victorious in life. His solution? He sought the Lord. The psalmist knew that it was the Lord and the Lord alone who could rescue him from all that worried him. And because he trusted in Him, the Lord delivered him. Time and time again. So if you are feeling stressed and fearful today, this verse is your reminder to give it all to God. Trust Him with the situation and with the outcome, and He will deliver you!
