The Words of the Lord are flawless…
The Words of the Lord are Flawless – Psalm 12:6
And the Words of the Lord are flawless,
like silver purified in a crucible,
like gold refined seven times.
Gold and silver are precious metals that become beautiful and efficacious over time. Its purification process involves intense heat, testing and separation. Not so ironically, the Word of God, described as silver and gold, has the same purifying affect on our soul and in our lives.
Unfortunately, the world does its best to convince mankind that it does not need God; that we can do everything on our own and in our own strength. The truth is, however, while we may make headway for awhile … we will ultimately find ourselves back at square one. Why? Because there is no short cut. Human beings need God, the One who created us to have a relationship with Him. This is precisely why Jesus warned, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me [however] you can do nothing ” (Jn 15:5).
In today’s day and age, it is easy to lack understanding of the richness and power of God’s Word. It is also easy to take for granted having access to such a gift. If we are honest, much of this is our own doing. Thankfully, God is loving and patient with us. While we waste time trying to do life on our own terms, our Father in Heaven is always with us lovingly knocking at our hearts and showing us the way back to His Truth.
If you are in need of anything at all today, the Word of God has your covered — mind, body and soul. You will not only find the answers to all your problems in Holy Scripture, you will find His very presence with you. Always remember, the Words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times (Psalm 12:6).
