Reflection
Have you ever seen anything come close to reaching Heaven? The tallest tree may look massive standing on foot, a skyscraper more spectacular still, and a plane? Even more incredible. But none of it comes close to reaching Heaven. All these things combined are nothing in comparison to the mightiness of God; the greatness of His power or the vastness of His Heavenly abode. Just beyond our finite senses lies an eternal paradise that we cannot yet imagine … for “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor. 2:9).
The psalmist reminds us that God’s love is so great (for us!) that it reaches all the way to Heaven; His faithfulness so massive and powerful it reaches all the way to the sky! It is unwise to passively skim over these words. We must adopt them as Truth; living and breathing them in our everyday lives. Not only are these words everlasting promises of God, the only words this side of Heaven that never fail (Lk 1:37) and reign supreme forever (1 Pet. 1:25) — “Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made … has failed; everything [has come] to pass” (Josh. 21:45) — they are divine, miracle-working oaths that have transformed hearts and minds world over since the beginning. When His Word — His love — is believed (and lived out), your life will begin to change. Faith will begin to move those “unmovable” mountains.
No matter where you are, no matter what is going on in life today, have no fear about the future. Rather than spending time worrying, spend time thanking God for His love and faithfulness to you. We serve a mighty and all-powerful Father who loves to protect and provide for His children. His providence reaches all the way to Heaven and back! So the next time you begin to doubt, allow the grandeur of His promises, presence, love, loyalty and mercy, to swell inside of your heart and soul. This free gift from Heaven will set you free … forever.
Prayer
Father in Heaven, thank You for reminding us of Your goodness; for loving us and remaining faithful to us even when we do not deserve it. We pray today for a supernatural amount of grace and mercy in our lives. Protect us as we move forward into this day, and provide for us in a way that only You can. We have many needs, wants and desires, Lord, but we offer all of them to You – trusting that You know what is best. We love You and we vow to humbly submit our will for Your will. It is in Your good and Holy Name we pray, Amen.
