Psalm of the Day

Be Strong and Wait for the Lord — Psalm 27:1

I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart…
Psalm 27:13-14

Be Strong and Wait for the Lord — Psalm 27:1, 13-14

The Lord is my Light and my salvation—
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
    of whom shall I be afraid?

13 I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

Prayerfully reflect on this psalm throughout the day today. Read it over and over; meditate on every word. Think about the psalmists trust and patience in God amidst the heavy storms of life: “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord … Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart…”. The psalmist knew all about conflict, stress, fear and uncertainty, and his words remind us today to not only trust the Lord, but to have patience. Trust that God is working on your behalf and he will bring the victory in His perfect timing. There is great great blessing for the one who “waits well” … for patience is the ultimate display of faith.

“The Lord is my Light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?”
