It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, to eat bread earned by hard toil … [for] all this God gives to His beloved in sleep.
Psalm 127:2

Best Bible Verses to Help You Sleep
In peace I will lie down and fall asleep,
for you alone, Lord, make me secure.
But seek first the Kingdom [of God] and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself...
You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shade of the Almighty,
Say to the Lord, “My refuge and fortress,
my God in whom I trust.”
He will rescue you from the fowler’s snare,
from the destroying plague,
He will shelter you with His pinions,
and under His wings you may take refuge;
His faithfulness is a protecting shield.
You shall not fear the terror of the night
nor the arrow that flies by day
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
From whence shall come my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
the maker of heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
or your guardian to sleep.
Behold, the guardian of Israel
never slumbers nor sleeps.
The Lord is your guardian;
the Lord is your shade
at your right hand.
By day the sun will not strike you,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will guard you from all evil;
he will guard your soul.
The Lord will guard your coming and going
both now and forever.
The Lord is my shepherd;
there is nothing I lack.
In green pastures He makes me lie down;
to still waters He leads me;
He restores my soul.
He guides me along right paths
for the sake of His Name.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff comfort me.
You set a table before me
in front of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Indeed, goodness and mercy will pursue me
all the days of my life;
I will dwell in the House of the Lord
for endless days.
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things … then the God of peace will be with you.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy, and My burden light.”
May the Lord give might to His people;
may the Lord bless His people with peace!
Isaiah 26:3-4
With firm purpose You maintain peace;
in peace, because of our trust in You.
Trust in the Lord forever!
For the Lord is an eternal Rock.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid,
when you rest, your sleep will be sweet.
I lie down and I fall asleep,
[and] I will wake up, for the Lord sustains me.
“Cast all your worries upon Him because He cares for you” –1 Peter 5:7; “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” –James 4:8;
“Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My victorious right hand” -Isaiah 41:10.

What Scripture talks about sleep?
Jesus said, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand…” (Matt. 26:45). While the Bible makes clear that sleep is important, sleeping in place of physical work (doing what God has called you to do) is condemned. More so, and perhaps what is even more harmful to ourselves and our lives is when we sleep instead of praying.
What should I pray before going to sleep?
“Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray to God my soul to take. If I should live for other days, I pray the Lord to guide my ways. Father, unto thee I pray, Thou hast guarded me all day; Safe I am while in Thy sight, Safely let me sleep tonight. Bless my friends; the whole world bless them; Help me to learn helpfulness; Keep me always in Thy sight; So to all I say goodnight.”
