Come Holy Spirit Prayer

Powerful Come Holy Spirit Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit
Replace the tension within us
with holy relaxation.
Replace the turbulence within us
with a sacred calm.
Replace the anxiety within us
with a quiet confidence.
Replace the fear within us
with a strong faith.
Replace the bitterness within us
with the sweetness of grace.
Replace the darkness within us
with a gentle light.
Replace the coldness within us
with a loving warmth.
Replace the night within us
with your light.
Straighten our crookedness.
Fill our emptiness.
Dull the edge of our pride.
Sharpen the edge of our humility.
Light the fires of our love.
Quench the flames of our lust.
Let us see ourselves
as You see us
That we may see You
as You have promised,
and be fortunate
according to Your word:
“Blessed are the pure of heart
for they shall see God” (Mt. 5:8).

Amen.

O Holy Spirit,
Beloved of my soul,
I adore You.
Enlighten me, guide me,
strengthen me, console me.
Tell me what I should do,
give me Your orders.
I promise to submit myself to all
that You desire of me and to accept all
that You permit to happen to me.
Let me only know Your will.

Prayer for the Holy Spirit Light by Cardinal Manning

O Holy Spirit of God,
take me as Thy disciple.
Guide me, illuminate me,
sanctify me.
Bind my hands that they may
do no evil.
Cover my eyes that they may see it no more.
Sanctify my hear that evil
may not dwell within me.
Be Thou my God. Be Thou my Guide.

Withersoever Thou leadest me I will go.
Whatsoever Thou forbiddest
me I will renounce.
And whatsoever Thou
commandest me,
in Thy strength I will do.
Lead me then unto the fullness
of Thy truth.
Amen.

A Secret of Sanctity by Cardinal Mercier

“I am going to reveal to you a secret of sanctity and happiness. If every day during five minutes, you will keep your imagination quiet, shut your eyes to all the things of sense, and close your ears to all the sounds of earth, so as to be able to withdraw into the sanctuary of Your baptized soul, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit … your life will pass happily and serenely. Consolation will abound even in the midst of troubles. Grace will be given in proportion to the trial as well as strength to bear it, bringing you to the gates of Paradise full of merit. This submission to the Holy Spirit is the Secret of Sanctity” -Cardinal Mercier.
