Consecration to the Holy Spirit

Consecration to the Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit,
divine Spirit of light and love,
I consecrate to You my understanding,
my heart and my will,
my whole being for time and for eternity.
May my understanding

be always submissive to Your
heavenly inspirations and
to the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church,
of which You are the infallible Guide.
May my heart be ever inflamed with

love of God and of my neighbor;
may my will be ever conformed to
the divine Will, and may my whole life
be a faithful imitation of the life and
virtues of Our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, to whom with the Father
and You, Holy Spirit, be honor
and glory forever. Amen.

–Prayer by St. Pius X; June 5th 1908

Prayer to Receive the Holy Spirit

O King of glory,
Send us the Promised of the Father,
the Spirit of Truth.
May the Counselor Who proceeds
from You enlighten us and infuse

all truth in us, as You have promised.
Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Holy and divine Spirit!
Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
your spouse,
bring the fullness of your gifts into our hearts.
Comforted and strengthened by you,
may we live according to your Will
and may we die praising your infinite mercy.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Secret of Sanctity by Cardinal Mercier

I am going to reveal to you a secret of sanctity and happiness. If every day during five minutes, you will keep your imagination quiet, shut your eyes to all the things of sense, and close your ears to all the sounds of earth, so as to be able to withdraw into the sanctuary of Your baptized soul, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, speaking there to the Holy Spirit saying:

“O Holy Spirit, soul of my soul, I adore You. Enlighten, guide, strengthen and console me. Tell me what I ought to do and command me to do it. I promise to be submissive in everything that You permit to happen to me, only show me what is Your will.”

If you do this, your life will pass happily and serenely. Consolation will abound even in the midst of troubles. Grace will be given in proportion to the trial as well as strength to bear it, bringing you to the gates of Paradise full of merit. This submission to the Holy Spirit is the Secret of Sanctity.”
–Cardinal Mercier

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” –2 Corinthians 3:17.

How do I bring the Holy Spirit into my house?

There are seven ways to invite the Spirit into your home: Keep it clean and uncluttered (the Spirit of the Lord cannot dwell in unclean spaces); Clean language (the language we use in our homes can drive the Spirit away if we are not careful); Uplifting Media; Daily Scripture Study; Daily Prayer; Home Decor; Love one another.

How do you invoke the Holy Spirit in prayer?

Ask and you shall receive! The Holy Spirit is a free gift to all of us. Ask the Holy Spirit for His presence, and ask often. Just make sure you are sincere, walking in the ways of the Lord, and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord.
