“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” –John 14:27.

Best Bible Verses for Serenity

Life can be very tough sometimes. Right now especially. Many people are juggling either multiple jobs or unemployment, unfamiliar work-from-home challenges, innumerable financial, familial, and relational pressures — all while navigating through a global pandemic and civil unrest. It is no wonder we find ourselves begging for a moment of peace and tranquility.

Well thank goodness that, come rain or shine, we’ve got the Word of God — the Holy Bible — to lift, comfort, and give us the mental and emotional rest our soul requires. The divinely inspired Word of God offers a vast array of hope-filled and encouraging verses that fill us with an inner peace and quiet we can’t find elsewhere. According to Jesus, this kind of peace is not like what the world gives (Jn 14:27). It is a divine peace – a supernatural peace that transcends the world’s capabilities and our own limited understanding. And, this kind of peace is also God’s deepest desire for every one of us to behold. The overall message is clear: Slow down, My Child, and take a deep breath. Open your heart and trust Me. As you seek Me, I will reward you with an inner peace that will transform your life.

When you have a few extra minutes, find a quiet room and read through these verses. Spend time prayerfully meditating on them. And pay attention to the ones that speak peace and calm to your Spirit; the ones you feel connected to. It will be these verses that lead you in the way in which you should go. The way of serenity. A place we so desperately need to visit from time to time.

So, sit back, relax, and allow your Heavenly Father’s divinely inspired Words to engulf your Spirit, guide you, and fill you with His presence, promises, and, yes, His peace.

Best Bible Verses for Serenity

Psalm 91:1-4

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely He will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers,

His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be His people and God Himself will always be with them.  He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, [for] the old order has passed away.” The One who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Then He said, “Write these Words down, for they are trustworthy and true.”

1 Thessalonians 5:4-5

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have gained access [by faith] to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
