Verse of the Day: Love is the Key–1 Corinthians 13:13
“Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love” –1 Cor. 13:13.
Love is fundamental. It is a prerequisite in the economy of God – the key to our success in life. Everything in life can (and will) circumstantially change, but when storms arise and conditions worsen, love-inspired, hope-filled and faith-driven lives not only persevere, but are blessed. It may not always be easy to love, but Jesus never told us it would be. Take a look at what He said in Luke 6:35-36:
“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because He is kind [even] to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful [with you].”
We may not always understand the higher workings of God, but we are not called to understand – we are called to obey. And we are wise to humbly obey His call to love (“Then your reward will be great”). If things aren’t going as smoothly as you’d like in life right now, try doing it God’s way. Try loving more – even those who don’t ‘deserve’ it. What you do out of love and charity for others, the Lord will multiply in your life and in your circumstances. Love is the key. Trust Him.
