You Will Reward Us According to What We Have Done—Psalm 62:11-12
11 One thing God has spoken,
two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to You, God,
12 and with You, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.”
There are three main points to this passage that every believer should pay close attention: 1) All power belongs to God (you have nothing to fear); 2) With the Lord there is unfailing love (you are never alone); and 3) God will reward us according to what we have done (our actions – what we do – has great significance). God won’t miss even the smallest act of charity or mercy extended from your heart to someone else’s (Matthew 25:40-45). Today, make it your mission to help someone. Not only will you store up your reward in Heaven, but you’ll restore your life here on earth as well.
[Read and mediate on this psalm throughout the day. Think of all the different ways you could help someone else, and then go do at least one of them.]
