Daily Devotion: Growing in Your Faith–2 Peter 3:18
It is unfortunate that so many Christian’s today make so little progress in their spiritual lives after accepting Jesus to be their Savior. They stop asking, seeking and knocking; digging for deeper truths of the faith. And slowly, the world and its ways creep in and they become lukewarm with little power from the Holy Spirit.
Ask yourself: Is Christ becoming more real to you? Are you feeling closer to Him as time goes on? Is prayer essential in your decision making? Do you read the Word of God daily? Are you continually being fascinated by the depths of Christianity and its origins?
It takes courage and spiritual maturity to answer these questions. Allow this devotion to be a prelude to renewing your faith and peaking your interest to go deeper. If you do, there will be no end to your growth and development. Similarly, there will be no end to what God will do in your life. Your new-found growth will bring about a renewed life-giving energy. This spark will enable you to develop much needed Christ-like virtues; and subsequently bear life-changing fruit for the Kingdom.
“You are the One True Vine, Lord. In You I can do all things; without You I can do nothing. Keep me from all evil and help me to be fruitful as I seek more of You and Your Kingdom. Amen.“
