What To Do If You Want To Prosper–Psalm 1:1-3

What To Do If You Want to Prosper–Psalm 1:1-3

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on His law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do will prosper.

Regardless of your current situation, you can prosper! You can blossom exactly where you are planted. How? Obedience to God’s Word.

In Psalm 1, King David clearly states that if we want to prosper we must hang out with the right people. We will inevitably become the company we keep. So with this in mind, he instructs us to spend time with faithful, wise and morally sound people — people of strong faith who have our best interest in mind, will help to strengthen our faith, and will genuinely care about our salvation. If we do, we will be “like a tree planted by streams of water”, unshakeable and yielding much fruit.

Spending time with the right people will lift you higher (mentally, emotionally and spiritually) and, as a result, you will prosper.

[Read and meditate on the words of Psalm 1. They will gently, and wisely, instruct you in the way you should go.]
