Verse of the Day
“Dear Friends, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed…” –1 John 3:2.
Our natural inclination is to be so certain that we look at uncertainty as a bad thing. The nature of life (particularly maturity in the spiritual life) however, requires unbridled trust in our uncertainty. To be certain of God’s way, means to be uncertain in our own way. We’re not sure what tomorrow will bring, and we’re okay with that. We don’t know our next step, but we know God does.
When we let go of how we think life should be, we open ourselves up to God’s mysterious spontaneity — that magical quality that makes life fun and exhilarating.
Let us not forget what Jesus said in Matthew 18:3, “…unless you become like little children…”. Living life to the fullest will require a child-like wonder, trust and abandonment. So today, leave everything to Him and His workings. If you do, He will show up in ways you least expect.
