Verse of the Day: October 5th — 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
“If I [the Lord] close Heaven so that there is no rain;
if I command the locust to devour the land;
if I send pestilence among my people…
if then My people, upon whom My Name
has been pronounced [worshipped and praised],
humble themselves and pray,
and seek My face and turn from their evil ways…
I will hear them from Heaven
and pardon their sins and heal their land”
– 2 Chron. 7:13-14.
Never does God utter a Word He does not mean. Similarly, never does He leave us without safe instruction. In 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, the Lord tells us exactly what we must do in order for our prayers to be heard, sins pardoned, and lands to be healed: Humble yourselves and pray (without ceasing); seek My face and turn from all evil. Obedience to His Word changes everything in our lives. Today, spend a few extra minutes with the Lord. Humbly repent from any sin and pray for deliverance and healing — individually and for the world.
“Thank You, Lord, for the ability to pray to You and for hearing our prayers from Heaven. We leave everything at the foot of the cross today, knowing that You are our strong tower, our healer, and our Vindicator. No matter what we face today, we trust in Your good and holy Name. Amen.”
