Verse of the Day: November 10th — Psalm 90:17
“May the favor of the Lord our God be ours.
Prosper the work of our hands!
Prosper the work of our hands!”
In Psalm 90, the Lord urges us to reflect on the fact that our life is finite … our days numbered. Believe it or not, we’re urged to keep this perspective for the primary reason of serving Him better. When we reflect on the swiftness of our lives, we’re more likely to make the most out of every day. Additionally, we’re more apt to focus on eternal matters as opposed to just the “here and now.”
The amazing thing about life is: it doesn’t stop here! Our life on earth may be brief but, thanks be to Jesus Christ our Savior, we have an eternal paradise with God that awaits us. Oh yes, we have much to celebrate. But before we get there, God has called us to fulfill a very specific work here on earth. You have a purpose — a divine calling — that only you can fulfill for the Kingdom. With that in mind, we are wise to continuously pray for God to bless the works of our hands. To bless our vocation, careers, gifts, and talents. The Lord wants you to pray for His blessing. He is waiting for you! He has given you these gifts for a reason — and He wants you to accomplish your goals. Not just for the world — but for the Kingdom. For His glory! It all fits together as one. And guess what? Only you can do what He has called you to do. So today, praise God for all He has given you and ask Him to bless the works of your hands!
“Lord God, put us to work! Show us the way in which we should go. Open up the pathway forward so we know exactly what Your will for our lives is. Give us the courage to walk where you ask, and then bless the works of our hands. We thank You for giving us the gifts and talents You have; and we desire to do all the good work You have called us to accomplish. So Lord, prosper us! Bless and anoint the works of our hands! Open all the right doors, and close all the wrong ones. May Your favor ever be shining down upon us. All glory to You Lord, the Creator of Heaven and earth. We love You and we praise You. In Your good and holy Name we pray, Amen!”
