Verse of the Day: Matthew 7:12

The Golden Rule:
“Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.”
Matthew 7:12

Called the “golden rule,” this concept is part of the natural law given by God and is a universal ethical standard. It is a natural consequence to the Two Great Commandments: to love God and to love our neighbor (Mt. 5:17-48) and is a step toward the new commandment, “Love one another as I have loved you” (Jn 15:12).

Today’s Prayer:

“Lord Jesus, please help us to love others today. Help us to love as You love; to love our neighbor as You have loved us. It is difficult because ego and pride never ceases to attempt ransoming our senses, carrying us away with anger, strife and confusion. So we humbly ask You, Lord, to help us love like You love; to forgive like You forgive. We ask for Your help in mending our wounds; healing our broken relationships; replacing any feelings of hatred in our hearts with a divine and unshakeable love … so that even when we are hurt and misunderstood, we will continue to love and extend mercy just as You have done for us. We pray not to fall victim to the traps of this world — arguing, cursing, and accusing — but to instead love others as You have commanded us. In everything we do and say, Lord, let our every action and word be motivated by our unwavering love for You. In Your good and holy Name we pray, Amen.”
