The Word of God is our offensive weapon against the devil, his schemes, and the darkness of the world’s lies. While much of what we’re given in our spiritual arsenal are defensive weapons, the Word of God strikes outward and leaves the enemy and all darkness to flight.

If you have never taken the time to actually memorize Bible Verses, this is a great time to do so – and a great list to get you started. While every last Word of God is priceless and worthy of knowing by heart, the below verses are a great place to start. Not only do we need to know these verses for when hardship strikes, we need to know them for when the enemy attacks our mind; when he sends thoughts our way that are untrue and must combatted.

Remember that while the devil cannot read your thoughts, he can whisper thoughts to you. But the Word of God wipes them clean!

*Begin by reading through the entire list of Bible Verses slowly. Choose those verses that stand out to you the most, for your lot in life today, and begin working to memorize those first. Once your chosen verses are memorized, then return to this list, choose a few more, and begin working on memorizing those. Before you know it, you will have the Word of God memorized – and you will be amazed at how much you use it and how effective it is in protecting you.
