Additional info about praying to St. Jude
When one first hears the name Judas (Latin and Greek) or even Jude (English), one immediately thinks of Judas Iscariot — the one who betrayed our Lord. Therefore, historically a person had to be desperate to invoke St. Jude’s name and intercession. Being so seldom invoked and reverenced however, St. Jude became known for being ready and waiting to hear all prayers of those who would call upon him. Ironically, he is today the Apostle who is probably invoked the most in prayer. In addition, he is the most memorialized in Churches with statues and other artwork. St. Jude, pray for us!
