It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Psalm 100:3
Know That the LORD is God – Psalm 100:3
Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Reflection
It is so comforting to know that we have an all-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful Shepherd who continually protects and guides us toward our rightful path. But have you given much thought to the fact that this Good Shepherd has specifically chosen you to be a part of the fold? You are not only welcomed into the (real) Royal Family, you were created for it! Do not be misled by the lying voices of the devil throughout this world. You are not aimlessly wandering around, lost and unknown. The faithful have not stumbled upon the Kingdom of Heaven by mere chance. To the contrary, since the very beginning, you have been chosen. You have always belonged. And because of your coming inheritance, you are relentlessly pursued, lovingly cared for, and continuously drawn deeper into the inexhaustible depths of Christ’s Sacred Heart.
Take a moment to prayerfully reflect on the history of our Creation (see the Book of Genesis!). Think about what God has done in order to have an intimate relationship with you … in order to save you. Let us never forget that by His hands, we were created in His image to share in the coming glory. Because of His unfathomable love, He will stop at nothing to be with you — the heir to His Kingdom everlasting.
“Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture” – Ps. 100:3.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that we have always belonged to You, whether we have realized that early on or are just realizing it now. Help us to always walk in the assurance of Your love and in the knowledge of eternal belonging. Equip us with the strength, courage and perseverance to fight the good fight of faith, drawing nearer to You in every situation, every day of our lives. As we draw closer to You, Lord, we humbly request for You to draw closer to us. We fully acknowledge that we can do no good thing apart from You. It is in Your good and Holy Name we pray. Amen.
