God Will Instruct You in the Way You Should Go – Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.
Reflection
A wise person is one who listens to (and obeys) wise instruction. Similarly, a righteous person desires Godly Truths over the man-made truths of this world. In other words, a wise and righteous person never stops seeking, learning and implementing the things of God into their lives.
In this Psalm, the Lord reminds us that He will instruct and teach us in the way we should go. Not the world. Not other people. God alone knows the beginning from the end. He alone knows the best path forward for you. Listening to the advice of other men (man or woman) is wise only insofar as they listen to God because, again, God alone knows all things. He alone is the Source of true information and guidance. Not only does God know what is best for you (and the whole world), He always has the “big picture” in mind — your eternal destination — as well as your best interest at heart. But God will not force the desire for divine knowledge on us. We must want it, crave it, and chase after it with our whole being.
The question is, do you? Are you seeking divine Truth and counsel above all else? Are you reading the Bible daily? Praying to Him with a humble heart? Surrendering your will for His and making Him a priority? The Lord promises to do His part — “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you” — so long as we promise to do ours.
Prayer
Lord, please show us when our hearts are not willing to receive Your Word and counsel. We want to hear only Your guidance for our lives. So please give us an open heart, clear mind and willing soul to receive the divine wisdom that can only come from You. Also God, please give us the courage to obey Your instruction even when we do not fully understand. We love You and we need You. It is in Your good and Holy Name we pray. Amen.
Thanks, Meisha; the Lord’s guidance and leadings are timely and true. And, truth is always liberating (John 8:32).
Many blessings, and thanks for your amazing work!
