God Is With You Wherever You Go – Psalm 139:9-10

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there Your hand will guide me,
    Your right hand will hold me fast.

Moving on from anywhere can be disconcerting. A new circumstance, a new job, a move, or even a loss of something we were used to means that we will be leaving what was familiar and stepping out into the unknown. While change is often good, it can feel unsettling.

Take courage knowing that no matter where you go or no matter what change occurs, the Lord will always be with you. As the psalmist said, He is as far east as the rising sun, and as far west as the sunset. If you trust in Him, listening for His voice and abiding by His will, you will hear Him guiding you as you move. When you get to your destination, He promises to hold fast your hand and make sure everything goes well with you: “…even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.”

Lord, this world is so small in comparison to your greatness. Your presence is everywhere at every moment, and You promise to be with us wherever we go. Guide us in the next step of our lives; give us the confidence to move to where You have called us. We trust in You from the rising of the sun to its going down.
