Verse of the Day: Here I Am Lord, Send Me!–Isaiah 6:8
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And, who will go for us?‘ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” –Isaiah 6:8
When the Lord searches the earth, looking for someone to do His bidding – His Will – will that person be you? Are you available? Many people say they are. They have even the best of intentions. But, when push comes to shove, only in theory. When the fateful day comes and the Lord requests them to step out in faith – to step out of the comfort zone and trust Him completely – many quickly step backwards. ‘Not now, Lord; Not yet; I’m just too busy. Oh no, Lord, there’s no way I can do that. Try again some other time…‘.
Every day, our Lord is looking for someone to say, “Here I am, Lord, send me” – and mean it. He knows our current situations and obligations. He knows what we can and cannot do; and He knows what it will cost us. So we can rest assured that our Father in Heaven will never lead us someplace we’re not fully equipped to handle. He assures us that our faith (and obedience) will move mountains. Great miracles will come forth.
So the next time He asks, Whom shall I send? Who will go for us? Be prepared (and wise) to respond with great faith: ‘I may not understand, Lord. I may not have all the answers today, but I don’t need them. I fully trust in You.’ Whenever He calls you, and wherever He leads you, say Yes. You will never regret it.
