May All Who Gloat Over Us Be Put To Shame–Psalm 35:26-28

May All Who Gloat Over Us Be Put To Shame–Psalm 35:26-28

26 May all who gloat over us [Christian’s] distress
    be put to shame and confusion;
may all who exalt themselves over [us]    be clothed with shame and disgrace.
27 May those who delight in [our] vindication
    shout for joy and gladness;
may they always say, “The Lord be exalted,
    He Who delights in the well-being of His servant(s).”
28 Our tongue will proclaim Your righteousness,
    Your praises all day long.

In this world, you will have trouble (John 16:33). And as a believer in Christ, you will have even more. You will be mocked, ridiculed, abandoned, and even persecuted for your faith (John 15:18-25). Fortunately for us believers though, God has equipped us with all we need to overcome any trial. We don’t stand alone in any battle. The Lord stands with us. We don’t walk alone into foreign territory. God has already gone before us preparing the way. We don’t fight alone either. Rather, the Lord fight’s for us – we need only to be still (Exodus 14:14). The psalmist was absolutely correct when he said the Lord delights in the well-being of His servants (v 27). He loves you with a love you can not fathom. A love so vast and so deep, by the way, that if you could comprehend even a glimmer of its depth … you’d give up everything to rightfully follow Him.

As you go about your day today, don’t let anyone or anything steal your peace. Do not be afraid. God is with you and He will protect and provide for you. You are not called to understand it all, agree with it all, or solve all the world’s problems. You are called to trust and to love (Him and others), just as He loves you.

Lord Jesus, Thank You for loving us. We vow not to turn from side to side but to abide by Your Word and earnestly love You. To proclaim Your righteousness and sing Your praises all the day long (v 28).
