Due to His many miraculous healings, Jesus Christ our Lord is known as the “Divine Physican.” Just as He healed many people during His 3 years of ministry on earth, He continues to heal millions of people today. One of the most powerful practices we have (in order to invoke the Lord’s power) is to recite the Word of God in prayer. The below [adapted] excerpt from Psalm 51 is a powerful passage that can be prayed when you’re in need of healing.

If you are in need today, pray this Prayer with faith and humility. Believe that God can (and will!) deliver you. Be confident in knowing that He hears your prayers and brings healing into your life through faith. We may not always receive the exact kind of healing we’re looking for, but rest assured – you can trust your Divine Physician for the perfect kind of healing according to His perfect and Holy will. “Lord Jesus,

Have mercy on me, O God,
    according to Your unfailing love;
according to Your great compassion
    blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity
    and cleanse me from all sin
and hindering ailments.

I know my past transgressions, Lord,
    my sin still before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned
    and You are right in any verdict;
    justified when You judge.
You desired faithfulness even in the womb;
    and You’ve taught me great Wisdom since then,
all in secret places.

Cleanse me now with hyssop, Lord, and I shall be clean;
    wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Heal me, and I shall be healed.
Allow me to feel joy and gladness now;
    let the bones You’ve crushed now rejoice.
Hide Your face from all past sins
    and blot out my iniquity.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
    and renew a steadfast Spirit within me.
Do not cast me from Your presence
    or take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
    and grant in me a willing Spirit;
a healing that will sustain me.
In You, Lord, now and forevermore
I place all my trust.
