For He Remembered His Holy Promise–Psalm 105:42-45

For He Remembered His Holy Promise–Psalm 105:42-45

42 For He remembered His Holy promise
    given to His servant Abraham.
43 He brought out His people with rejoicing,
    His chosen ones with shouts of joy;
44 He gave them the lands of the nations,
    and they fell heir to what others had toiled for—
45 that they might keep His precepts
    and observe [all] His laws.

Praise the Lord.

There are thousands of promises of God made throughout the Bible. And every single one of them will forever remain true. His promises are specifically for you and for me, just as they were for our ancestors of the past. When the Lord (finally) answers a prayer, brings about a breakthrough, or delivers us from adversity, He brings us out rejoicing with shouts of joy (v 43)! Our God is a big God and He shows up in big, unexpected ways. Pay close attention to the last verse: “…that they might keep His precepts and observe His Laws.” God is happy to make good on His supernatural promises of protection, provision, and grace when we respect, honor, and obey His Commands – which by the way, are for our earthly and eternal benefit.

As you read over these beautiful (and timely) verses today, think about ways you could better listen to God’s voice and honor His Commands in your own life. If you do, prepare for God to show up in a mighty way.
