[As you read over the the psalmist’s powerful praise, pray the words along with him. Show God know that no matter what’s going on in life, you’ll stand firm in faith and worship. Open the flood gates of healing and blessings!]
Psalm 8:1-4: Praise God During the Storm
1 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is Your Name in all the earth!
You have set Your glory
in the Heavens.
2 Through the praise of children and infants
You have established a stronghold against Your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider Your Heavens,
the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which You have set in place,
4 what is mankind that You are mindful of them,
human beings that You care for them?
This beautiful psalm of praise was written under incredible duress and turmoil. Yet, the psalmist continued to exalt the Creator of the Universe regardless of circumstance. As you read and mediate on these powerful words today, think of ways you can better glorify His Name in all you do and in any situation.
What are we really saying (and feeling) when we say, “My God”?
