Start the Week of Right: A Simple and Powerful Sunday Prayer
“Lord, today we celebrate Your magnificent splendor;
for by Your hand You placed time in motion.
From the first day of creation until this day,
Your creative wonders have filled the universe.
Today we celebrate Your mighty power;
for by Your hand You raised Christ from the grave.
And by your hand, you chose us and gave us life.
From resurrection Sunday until this very day,
Your love has given life to all mankind.
Father, we thank You for today.
We thank You for all you have done and all You do.
In love, gratitude and honor, we give this special day to You.
May we rest in Your presence, Lord;
may we find peace in Your protection all the days of our lives.
May we bathe in Your goodness;
and celebrate the gift of eternal life when we believe.
This day and every day we seek You;
this day and every day we worship You;
this day and every day, we love You.
In the precious Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen.”
A Prayer for a Heart of Thanksgiving
“I come to You, Lord, with a surrendered and humble heart. Forgive me for my sins; those I am aware of and those I am not. I ask that You would teach me how to offer You a heart of thanksgiving and praise in all my experiences. Teach me to be joyful always, to pray continually and to give thanks in all my circumstances, no matter what they are. Help me to accept them as Your will for my life (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18), and to deepen my limited understanding.
Heavenly Father, I long to bring pleasure to You daily. Help me to stay strong against the powers of the enemy. Defeat Him through my surrendered obedience. Change my outlook to one of joyful contentment and gratitude at all times – especially in regards to these present circumstances.
I thank You specifically for… [Present the difficult circumstance in your life and thank God for His strength].
Thank You for hearing my every prayer.
In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Gratitude transforms your relationship with God, the world, and your own soul.
