Daily Devotional: Are you putting limits on God?
If you are dreaming small, you are limiting what God can (and wants to) do in your life. All throughout the Bible, in various ways, we are told not to think, dream or pray small. After all, we’re talking about God here! We are talking about the One Who literally spoke all of creation into existence; brought something from nothing and raises life from death. It is safe to say, nothing is impossible for Him–and nothing you ask is too big for Him.
Proverbs 23:7 tells us that ‘as a man thinks, so is he.’ Our capabilities are as vast or as limited as we believe them to be. Similarly, how powerfully God works in our lives depends on our level of faith. Every day we are called to further strengthen our trust in Him by reading, believing and acting upon His promises.
It is true that what we sow now, we will reap later. The more faith we have today, the more power we will have tomorrow. Just like the law of gravity, so it is with the law of faith. When we put our faith into action, there is no stopping what God will do.
Today, start with the little you do have and watch how God will magnify your efforts. Never underestimate His great love for you or what He is capable of doing through you.
“Father, nothing is impossible for You. In these times of uncertainty, we will trust Your Word and not our own limited understanding. As we plant the little we have, we will trust in You for strength and provision. We have faith in the work You’ve set out to accomplish in our lives. Amen.”
