Daily Devotion: Trusting in Darkness–Psalm 23:4

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” -Psalm 23:4.

Every person will face hardship. Followers of Jesus travel through deserts of darkness challenging their faith. Spiritual lives fall stale…enthusiasm worn thin by trials or indifference.

If you are feeling this way today, you are in need of a new spark. A new focus and dependence on God. No matter how we “feel” during times of struggle and impatience, we must reignite our passion for Him and His promises. God’s love remains strong, steadfast and fervent. Even when we are far from Him, He is never far from us. His love is eternal; His grace everlasting.

One of the benefits of traveling through darkness is appreciating the brilliant light and new found strength when it comes. There will be a change of tide, a victory, and we will once again praise His love and goodness. Reignite your faith today because God will use the darkest of moments for your greatest benefit

Lord, we are traveling through times of uncertainty. Darkness surrounds our every step and we wander into worry about tomorrow. Please hold our hand as You guide us into our promised future…one faithful step at a time. Our eyes are on You. Amen.
