Daily Devotion: A True Search for Peace: Isaiah 28:12

“…to whom He said, ‘This is the resting place, let the weary rest’; and, ‘This is the place of repose’–but they would not listen” -Isaiah 28:12.

Daily Devotion: A search for our inner Peace…

People today are struggling with tremendous pressures. Pressure at home, pressure at work, pressures with finances, family, friends and colleagues, and, seemingly now more than ever, natural disasters too. In such stressful times, we tend to grow weary.

The great news is, we have a remedy! Jesus invites us in by saying, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28. Unfortunately, instead of accepting this offer, many of us try to find solutions on our own–in our own strength and with temporary man-made solutions.

Regardless of how frantic our lives are, it is essential to withdraw from the demands of the day. Make time for Jesus by quietly and humbly resting at the feet of our Lord. Focus on Him and His unfathomable love. The stillness of His presence will strengthen you with a divine Peace that transcends understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Heavenly Father, we have such a need for Your rest today. Help us turn to You and not ourselves in times of struggle. Strengthen us with Your divine presence; and give us your Peace. We pray this in Your great name. Amen.
