Whether it’s Valentine’s Day or not, the human heart is hard-wired to think about and to be in love. But real love is not always roses and chocolates. He will use a million-and-one different ways to carry out his attacks and wear down his victims. Sadly, if we are not constantly on-guard and armed with true faith our relationships will inevitably fall victim to his attacks. Point being, in our culture today the divorce rate is at an all-time high. Well above 50% at this point. This is in large part because couples have not properly protected their marriages with prayer. Without prayer, the devil will most certainly come in.
As Christians, we must remember that prayer is not optional. It is a MUST. And just like we pray for others, we must be praying for our spouses first and foremost. If the devil succeeds in causing husband and/or wife to fall from grace, he can cause the whole pyramid beneath them to crumble as well. Not only that, but when the nuclear family falls whole societies fall right along with it.
We must pray today like our lives and relationships depended on it, because they do. The family unit is being viciously attacked today from every angle. If you are married, than you have a responsibility to be praying with and for your spouse. Our spouses need all the protection they can get; and when they are protected, the other spouse is protected also. Prayer is cyclical and, again, not optional.

Grant that through the bonds of holy matrimony,
we may work out our salvation day by day.
May we grow in forgiveness, patience, perseverance,
compassion and selflessness.

May we cooperate with Your life-giving designs for our marriage
