Divine ineffable Jesus,
We pray Thee for our own beloved country;
guard and protect it from the manifold evils
and dangers which now threaten it.
Let not the enemy prevail against it,
nor the son of iniquity have power to hurt it.
Keep this country of ours faithful to its motto, “In God we trust.”
Keep this country of ours free for the practice of Thy holy religion,
that here Thy Church may grow, prosper,
and bring forth fruit a hundred-fold.
Grant us, O Lord, we beseech,
perseverance in laboring according to Thy Will;
that in our days Thy people serving Thee
may be augmented in number and in merit,
through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
