Once we stand firm in the teachings of Christ, we must live every day suited-up in the armor of God (Eph. 6:10-18), remain on the lookout, and be always spiritually prepared by walking in a state of sanctifying grace and staying in a state of prayer. Thus, Jesus reminds us in the Gospel of Matthew to ‘watch and pray … the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak’ (Matt. 26:40-43).
