Psalm of the Day: Wait For the Lord and Be Strong – Psalm 27:1, 13-14

The Lord is my Light and my salvation–
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life–
of whom shall I be afraid?

I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

Having faith is believing and trusting in God’s plan. When nothing seems to be working, when you don’t understand what is happening and can not see the best way forward, trust God. As human beings we do not know the best way forward, nor do we understand all things … because we are not God. Only God is all-knowing and He tells us to trust Him — not ourselves (Jer. 17:9). As you prayerfully meditate on this psalm today, think about what the psalmist is saying to you. He is reminding you that the Lord is the Light through the darkness and that you have nothing to fear. So “be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” God is good. He knows the best path forward. So trust Him and keep your peace while you wait.
