Yes, My Soul Finds Rest in God–Psalm 62:5-8

Yes, My Soul Finds Rest in God–Psalm 62:5-8

Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
    my hope comes from Him.
6 Truly He is my Rock and my salvation;
    He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;
    He is my mighty Rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
    pour out your hearts to Him,
    for God is our refuge.

Where does your soul find rest? Think about the last time you felt truly rested and at peace. Where were you? How long did the feelings last? If they weren’t attached to God in any way, they probably didn’t last very long. That’s because real (divine) Peace, the kind that lasts regardless of circumstance, is attained through, by, and with the Lord. All our hope comes from Him (not the world). This is why all throughout Scripture, disciples and psalmist’s alike praise God for being their Rock and fortress. The strong tower they can forever count on. With Him, they know they will never be shaken – and the exact same promise is made for you today.

Spend a few minutes prayerfully meditating on verse 8. It is worth far more than its weight in gold: Trust in Him, people. Pour out your hearts to Him, for it is God (and Him alone) Who is your refuge (v 8).
