He Is To Be Feared Above All gods–Psalm 96:4-6

He Is To Be Feared Above All gods–Psalm 96:4-6

For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
    He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols,
    but the Lord made the Heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him;
    strength and glory are in His sanctuary.

Any “thing”, person, or activity we place above God can be (or easily become) an idol in our lives. Any false god prayed to or worshiped in place of the One, True Lord is an abomination and holds serious consequences. God gave us the commandments to follow and His Word to abide by for our protection in this life and for the one to come (obtaining eternal salvation). His unwavering grace and mercy is indeed worthy of all praise. Splendor and majesty, strength and glory is His. When we walk in faith with our Lord, placing Him first in our lives, we dwell alongside Him in this Holy Sanctuary of protection, provision and eternal life.

Today, take a good look at your life. Do you have anything placed before your Heavenly Father? If you do, take steps to re-structure and make Him number one.
