Daily Devotion: The Key To Safety and Security –Psalm 23:1

If you belong to the Lord, then you are wholly safe and secure. You can know for sure that the Lord your God is a Good Shepherd. Therefore, you do not have to fear the future because the Shepherd is already there. He has gone before you, safely preparing the way to your eternal destiny.

You may have doubts from time to time. You may even worry about the future — if you’ll have enough to provide. But with childlike confidence and certainty, the psalmist tells us that “we shall not want.” In Him, we will not lack any good thing we truly need. The Lord knows our every desire and our every circumstance. He listens to our every prayer and plea. And just as promised, He will provide for us. Why? Because He loves His sons and daughters — and that love never changes. God’s love for you endures forever (Psalm 136:1).

The Lord is your Shepherd. He will lead, and you shall not want. Trust Him in all your ways, with all your needs.

“Father in Heaven, whom we love so much, it is a glorious reassurance to us that You are our Shepherd and that You lead us in all our ways. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on You and Your Word, and thank You for keeping us safe and secure. In Your Good and Holy Name we pray. Amen.”
