Verse of the Day: Galatians 6:9

Verse of the Day: October 22nd — Galatians 6:9

“Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9

The two verses preceding this one state: “Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows, because the one who sows for his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows for the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit.” St. Paul then encouraged his listeners to never grow tired of doing what is good and right because, in due time, perseverance will pay off: “in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.”

Whatever uphill challenge you face today, do not give up. The Lord promises that in due time, through persistence, perseverance and prayer, you will reap the harvest you have been patiently and faithfully waiting for.

“Lord, we lay all our troubles and trials at the foot of the Cross today. We trust completely in the workings and will of Your hand. Please forgive us for our doubt, grumbling and moaning as we push forward into the unknown. While we may not be able to see what lies ahead, we know that You have already gone before us and, through our faith, are guiding our every step. We pray together in unity, Lord, that You would take all our hardships and shortcomings and use them for Your greater glory — for something good and beneficial for others. Help us to remain steadfast and courageous in our sufferings, and to gratefully persevere for as long as You deem fit. For all the days of our lives, we love You and we trust in You. In the powerful Name of Jesus we humbly pray. Amen.”
