Daily Devotion: From Boldness to Blessing in Times of Need–Heb 4:16

Daily Devotion: From Boldness to Blessing in times of need

“Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” –Hebrews 4:16.

When problems arise, people naturally go searching for answers. So then, pay close attention to this verse. Read it slowly. In times of trouble, the Author of Hebrews tells us we need only two things: mercy and grace. Not more money, not more stuff, not all the answers to life’s problems. No. What we are most in need of is God’s great mercy and grace. How do we get it? We approach the throne with confidence.

If you are in an unsettling situation today, go confidently (yet reverently) to the Lord in prayer. Lay your requests, petitions and worries before Him believing that He is able to do all things. Notice how it is your confidence in God — your faith — that activates His grace and mercy; and, it is His grace and mercy that delivers you from all trouble.

Trust Him — His ways; His (perfect) timing; His unfathomable love for you. Trust Him completely.
